For most of us, getting away from it all doesn’t necessarily mean that we want to leave it “all” behind. We still need that occasional cup of coffee or a tasty treat to keep us going. Whether we’re at the beach, waiting in an airport or off on a waterpark adventure, we need that jolt of energy to wake up, refresh or keep going. I’ll be the first to admit that I do.
The lodging and travel market has just gotten a little sweeter with the opening of two new Dunkin’ Donuts locations at North America’s premier indoor waterpark resort destination, Great Wolf Lodge. The popular all-day coffee and donuts stop has just opened at the Michigan and Virginia Great Wolf Lodge locations.
From the press release …
“Our partnerships with Great Wolf Lodge and other lodging properties are a continued focus for our growth in alternative points of distribution,” said Grand Benson, CFE, vice-president of franchising and business development, Dunkin’ Brands. “With flexible design options and state-of-the-art operating systems in place, we offer a turnkey solution for our partners to offer their guests the comforts of home through their favorite coffee and snacks.”
Dunkin’ Donuts opened at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia on May 18, and in Traverse City, Michigan on June 1. Great Wolf Resorts owns and operates these locations, which serve the Dunkin’ Donuts’ menu of delicious foods and beverages that can be enjoyed throughout the day. Menu items include a range of hot and iced coffee, tea and espresso beverages, a variety of donuts, muffins, croissants and oven-toasted breakfast sandwiches. The first Dunkin’ Donuts location at Great Wolf Lodge opened in 2009 in Concord, North Carolina.
Striving to keep summertime travelers running on Dunkin’, the company is continuing its growth in the lodging market and other non-traditional locations such as kiosks and self-serve hot coffee stations that are perfect for gift shops and general stores. Store models can be designed to suit specific areas such as snack bars and convention registration areas.
Dunkin’ Donuts’ bakery products can be prepared in the property’s own kitchen, with the addition of some simple equipment, giving the food and beverage team flexibility to manage product inventory in accordance with guest traffic.
“Great Wolf Lodge is the indoor waterpark resort brand leader and we are constantly seeking the right partners that will help us continue to enhance our guest experience,” says Chris Hammond, corporate director of food and beverage, Great Wolf Lodge. “Dunkin’ Donuts was the clear choice for us when we decided to bring a branded quick-service concept to our guests.”
Currently, Dunkin’ Donuts has more than 500 non-traditional locations, including mass transit stations, travel centers, supermarkets, college campuses and military bases, with a delicious line-up of beverages and snacks.
