Matt DiRoberto of Boston-based Immersive Productions has teamed up with Jason Egan, creator of Fright Dome Las Vegas, to create a completely new Halloween concept using an actual historically haunted venue. Fans of haunted mazes and frightening attractions will be able to scream, shriek and claw their way through the USS Salem, located in the greater Boston, Massachusetts area.
Ghost Ship Harbor is 60,000 square feet of terror designed to horrify visitors with interactive experiences. Based on the premise that a plague has taken over, the Ghost Ship Harbor haunted attraction features three haunted houses/mazes, scare zones and a food village as well as professional actors and costumes and props that are sure to shock all who dare to board the vessel.
Haunted House Mazes at Ghost Ship Harbor
- Contagion: As you try to flee the plaque, you’ll be required to undergo a thorough examination before boarding the ship … which is your only hope of survival.
- Plague: The virus has managed to make it aboard the only ship that could save the world. Chaos ensues as it spreads among the bodies on board.
- Ouija: Get right into the middle of a paranormal investigation. This VIP experience explores the haunted side of the ship.
The USS Salem is widely known as a historically haunted destination. The ship was a hospital after the 1953 Ionian earthquake in Greece, and there have been hundreds of documented ghost sightings. The ship has been featured on “Ghost Hunters” and in “13 Most Haunted in Massachusetts” by author Sam Baltrusis.

“For many years, Greater Boston has lacked a haunted destination, one that delivers on a promise of sheer terror,” said Matt DiRoberto, founder of Ghost Ship Harbor. “By partnering with Jason Egan and Fright Dome, we are creating a destination event that New England has never experienced.”
Egan and the team behind Fright Dome have more than 15 years of experience in building extreme haunted attractions. Located in the Adventuredome at Circus Circus, Fright Dome has been called “one of the most extreme haunted houses in the world” by The Travel Channel.
“I am excited to launch this haunted attraction in such an iconic location,” said Fright Dome owner Jason Egan. “My team has created some of the top Halloween events in the world. To launch in a new market like Boston and work in a location that is notoriously haunted is amazing.”
