Universal Orlando Announces Name and Opening Date of new Wizarding World of Harry Potter Ride

Rumors and speculations have been put to rest. Everybody’s favorite half-giant will now have his very own ride within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Universal Orlando has announced that their “super secret” new ride will be named Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. It’s scheduled to open June 13, 2019.

According to the press release, this will be the most highly-themed coaster yet. Guests will get to fly with Hagrid on a thrilling roller coaster ride that plunges past some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures. I’m picturing a combination of Hagrid’s sidecar (which is what the artwork depicts) and the flying car of Harry, Ron and Whomping Willow fame (and, of course, combined with all of Hagrid’s creatures).

Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade already boasts an immersive venue of rides and attractions with the impressive Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade Village, the Flight of the Hippogriff and ground-breaking Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride.

You can hop on the Hogwarts Express (with a two-park pass) and journey on over to Universal Studios where Diagon Alley awaits with Knockturn Alley, the Leaky Cauldron and the thrilling Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts Bank ride. You can’t miss the fire-breathing dragon on the roof.

I can’t begin to describe what a big “Potterhead” I am (I’ve been sorted and everything – Hufflepuff Proud!). The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is my favorite area of any theme park. I absolutely love walking along the streets and alleys of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
